One Piece Movie Red Ranks No 1 in Japan in its opening week, Earning 2.25 Billion Yen
In its first opening week in Japan, One Piece Movie Red Ranks #1 at the Japanese Box Office. The film has reportedly sold 1.58 Million Cinema Tickets and has earned more than 2.54 Billion Yen (estimated US$16.7 million) in just two days.
One Piece Movie Red opened in Japan last Saturday, having IMAX screenings in 27 theaters alongside regular screenings. One Piece Movie Red also had 4DX, MX4D, and even Dolby ATmos screening on opening day. And has earned 78% more than the previous One Piece film, One Piece Stampede, earned in its first three days (One Piece Movie Stampede had its opening on a Friday, whereas One Piece Movie Red had its opening on a Saturday).
One Piece Movie Red will have a theatrical release in the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, coming Fall. Crunchyroll will be screening the movie in both Japanese sub and English subtitles and even English Dub.
One Piece Movie Red features a new character, Uta, Shanks' daughter, voiced by VA Kaori Nazuka, while the singer Ado covers her singing voice.
