Spiderman: Across the Spiderverse sparks a spinoff manga 'Octopuis Girl.'

Spiderman, a beloved figure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is set to debut in the world of manga. The animated film "Spiderman: Into The Spider-Verse" is receiving a sequel titled "Across the Spider-Verse," slated for release on June 2, 2023.

In conjunction with the sequel's release, Shounen Jump is launching a new spin-off manga titled "Spiderman: Across the Spider-Verse." The creators of the "My Hero Academia" spin-off, "VIGILANTE -My Hero Academia Illegals," Hideyuki Furuhashi, and Betten Court, will be the authors of this spin-off manga.

 

The manga is scheduled to be released on June 20, 2023, on the Shuiesha's Shounen Jump+ app, in partnership with Sony Entertainment18 days after the film's release. The spin-off manga will be known as "Spiderman: Octopus Girl."

"Spiderman: Octopus Girl" will delve into the story of Doctor Octopus, a notorious villain from the Spiderman franchise. After falling into a coma and subsequently recovering, Doctor Octopus finds himself reincarnated as a Japanese middle school girl named Otoha Okutamiya.

"Spiderman: Into The Spider-Verse" won an Oscar in 2018 and became among the highest-grossing animated films ever. The film's directorBob Persichetti, credited Japanese animators for their significant contributions to its success.

"Spiderman: Across The Spider-Verse" will be the sequel to the 2018 CG animated film. The opening song for the Japanese Dub of the film will be "REALiZE," performed by Lisa, and will pay homage to Toei Animation's version of Spiderman.

The upcoming spin-off manga promises to add a new dimension to the popular superhero animated film.
