Fruits Basket Gets a Compilation Anime Film "Fruits Basket -Prelude- Movie"

The official website of Fruits Basket Manga just announced on Friday that the anime is finally getting a compilation anime film titled "Fruits Basket-Prelude-" featuring the story of Tohru's parents.

Kyо̄ko to Katsuya no Monogatari (Kyо̄ko and Katsuya's Story) was announced in the 13th and final episode of Fruits Basket: The Final. The 2019/2021 anime series did not adapt Volume 16 of the original manga. And this side story anime will be properly covering Volume 16 of Fruits Basket, which primarily focuses on the backstory of Tohru's parents.

Fruits Basket -Prelude- will be featuring Kyо̄ko and Katsuya's (Tohru's Parents) story, along with new scenes that were specifically written for the film by the author Natsuki Takaya.

The new scenes will be depicting the story, set after the events of the TV anime. And will also serve as an epilogue to the TV anime as a special compilation Anime film.

Fruits Basket Official Manga website also announced that the Fruits Basket -Prelude- will open in Japan on February 18 and also came out with a special promotional visual for the new release. And the Theatrical limited edition Blu-ray for the film will also be released at the same time.
