In a recent development, Kōhei Horikoshi's manga "My Hero Academia" has secured the top spot on the Circana BookScan's Top 20 adult graphic novels list for May 2023. The list featured 17 manga volumes, with "My Hero Academia" volume 34 leading the pack. Other notable entries included "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" volume 1 and "SPY x FAMILY" volume 1, ranking second and third, respectively. 

The list also included popular titles like "Chainsaw Man," "One-Punch Man," "Jujutsu Kaisen," and "One Piece." The sixth volume of the Korean webcomic "Solo Leveling" by Chugong and DUBU also made it to the list, ranking at #15. Circana BookScan collects weekly point-of-sale data on print books from over 16,000 locations, covering approximately 85% of the U.S. trade print book market.
