City of Tarui Just Announced PR Anime About Japan's Most Famous Historical Battle
Some seasoned anime fans might have heard about the battle of Sekigahara from historical shows like Drifters or even Musashi: The Dream of the Last Samurai. And it may ring some bells in your mind because you had a dope history class.
The Battle of Sekigahara is often described as Japan’s most famous battle in history, where Tokugawa Ieyasu defeated the famed Toyotomi Clan, marking a huge turning point in Japan’s Feudal Era.
This decisive victory led Japan into a New Era of modernization, and even now, the historical locations from the battle are considered major tourist destinations for domestic tourism.
Tarui City is a small city located in the Gifu Prefecture, where the battle took place. And it is eager to share its historical connection to the grand battle which took place in 1600 A.D. On Monday it announced an original promotional anime, which will feature two Warlords from the city, Takenaka Shigekado, and Tamehiro Hiratsuka, who served the Toyotomi family together as friends but had to become enemies during the Battle of Sekigahara.
The new promotional anime will be called “The Battle of Sekigahara: The Warriors of Tarui Who Stood At the Crossroad." And is expected to come out sometime in 2022.
